Santa Monica and Santa Barbara both have stunning hidden coves and retreats – just be careful not to upset the over protective locals. However, LA also possesses arguably the most famous beach in the world, home to thousands of tourists each year, which is of course – Venice Beach. Around 2 hours from the main streets of LA, Venice beach is unique for its long boardwalk full of performers, skaters and artists. A truly eye-opening experience, this is one beach that shouldn’t be discarded as ‘too far away’.
